I'm Mauricio Cortés, a passionate creative leader with over 20 years of experience. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of leading and collaborating with major brands, earning recognition both locally and internationally.

My role encompasses both creative direction and talent development. My focus is on building and guiding diverse teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation in every project. I'm proud to have fostered the growth of other professionals, helping them achieve success through continuous learning and the development of essential skills to tackle industry challenges.

I've served as a judge at prestigious festivals, including Cannes Lions 2022, where I evaluated exceptional creative work from professionals around the world. My work has also been honored with Cannes Lions awards, further highlighting my dedication to pushing creative boundaries. Additionally, I've received accolades at festivals like "El Ojo de Iberoamérica" and FIAP, and my projects have been featured in outlets such as Luerzer's Archive, Adweek, and AdLatina.

With experience in the markets of Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States, I've collaborated with diverse talents across categories ranging from supermarkets, banks, and liquor brands to fashion, beauty, automotive, and technology. Every project is an opportunity to deliver innovative and culturally resonant solutions, especially for multicultural and Hispanic audiences in the U.S., ensuring that campaigns not only connect but also generate measurable results for clients.

For me, creativity is a way of life. I believe in the transformative power of ideas and in building genuine connections with audiences. In every project, I aim to leave a lasting impact, exceed expectations, and drive positive change in the industry. Creativity isn't just my profession; it's my deepest passion.

A Little More Intimate:
I was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1985, a city where people my age grew up with the need to transform what Medellín is today: a city of design, fashion, parties, and international influence. In my early career, I worked as a copywriter and have gained skills in art direction, illustration, sculpture, planning, and final art. I've worked in many sectors of the industry, enriching my creative perspective.

In 2017, I moved to Puerto Rico, an island that combines Latin and American cultures, where I faced new customs, needs, and challenges—an experience that’s been completely enriching. As an American resident, I've had the opportunity to work in New York, Chicago, and Miami, gaining insights into diverse cultural understandings. I'm a father of two children of different ages, which gives me the perspective of two worlds. I'm married to the most inspiring woman in the world, who motivates me to keep exploring and creating.
